Request support

Who can request

Three groups can open a request. In every case the National Society decides.

Host National Societies

Any of the 191 National Societies. Request directly, in any of the Centre's four languages, without going through anyone else.

IFRC and ICRC offices

Request on behalf of a National Society, with that Society's consent. The Centre confirms consent directly with the Society before triage.

Partner National Societies

Request where you are already supporting a Society, again with consent. If you are financing related work, say so in the request.

Consent is the precondition

Support proceeds only where the National Society has requested it or given formal endorsement, in line with the Seville Agreement 2.0. The Society sets the objectives, co-designs the plan and approves the recommendations. The Centre's advisers coach; implementation stays with the Society.

Eligibility and priority

Any Society can request. Not every request starts this year.

The Centre prioritises on vulnerability and NSIF status. A request that cannot be scheduled this cycle is held, and you are told which cycle it is held for.

NSIF is the IFRC National Society Investment Fund. Its 17 priority countries are:
